The highlights of the Womens third successive win came from Jamie Mackay's increasingly-influential training group, emphasising the value of this low-key friendly midweek competition. The Men placed third, rather luckily since 5 of the 12 events provided no points at all,but are now in the lead at the halfway stage, since the team result showed some changes from the pattern of matches 1 & 2.
For the Women U17 Mary Iheke's first-ever excursion over 400 resulted in a fine 60.8 and Roseanne Mackay went well under 27.0 for the first time with 26.6 win over 200. The Women won from Epsom 63-53 with Walton & TVH behind - overall,K&P lead wuth 18 League Pts from E&E 15,Walton 11,TVH 10 & SMR 1.
The men were almost totally reliant on our sprinters & Ron Taylor, who won twice and was in the winning 4 x 200 team.We failed to score in 3 of the 4 field events, with only Maurice Joyce in the PV bothering the scorer. Luckily,it was swings and roundabouts - Match:E&E 64,TVH 46,K&P 45,SMR 44,BA 41,Walton 9 and Overall: K&P 17,BA 16,SMR+E&E 14,TVH 13,Walton 7 & Bank 1. So with only 4 to go to the Final, the remaining 3 matches at Eton,St Marys & Bank could be interesting.
